Pixlr
Pixlr is an on-line, free design platform very similer to PhotoShop. While it may not have all the bells and whistles of PS, it is very powerful and functional. It offers several versions, I find Pixlr E the easiest and best option.
Pixabay
Looking for 100% free-to-use quality images for your next project? Pixabay has them. Currently they have over 1.9 million photos, illustrations, and even videos to use royalty free.
Unsplash
Unsplash is another great source for free quality images that are 100% royalty free to use commercially. While not as extensive a collection of images, they do have some really terrific and unusual pictures.
Clipartion
Maybe you need some quality clip art images? Clipartion has multitudes of popular royalty-free clip art images available for any occasion
DaFont
If you are looking to put a truly unique spin on a design project, choosing a specialty font is often the way to go. DaFont has more than 58,000 fonts available to choose from. Thankfully they have them in easy-to-search categories. Make sure on the Preview line to click on MORE OPTIONS, then click the boxes for Public Domain & 100 % free to see only those that are free to use commercially.
Color Palettes Canva.com
If you are looking for inspiration or options for picking out a color scheme for any design project, Canva’s Color Palette generator is the place to go. They have color palettes in every color of the rainbow that you can download for free.
